PLACE4U is an exciting new Charitable Trust Project, based in South Tipperary/West Waterford which commenced in spring 2008. The diocese of Waterford and Lismore kindly donated Fr Michael Burke House in Gladstone Street, a recently vacated convent in Clonmel town centre, to be placed at the disposal of various voluntary groups in the region. To help host and facilitate them in the advancement of their voluntary and charitable activities in the region.
PLACE4U will reach out to various agencies, groups and services in the community, helping them either to establish or extend their services in the region. It will particularly assist groups or agencies dedicated to:
-
youth services and activities
-
services and activities for the older population
-
dedicated services for families and individuals facing crisis situations
-
services and activities dedicated to meeting the needs of the disabled members of the community
-
assistance and support to the needy, disadvantaged and excluded members of the community
-
groups or services promoting effective collaboration and co-operation within the community
PLACE4U will offer access to offices, meeting rooms and other essential support facilities and services, that are commonly needed by voluntary service groups, but frequently take up too much of their valuable resources. As the project evolves, the range of services and supports will expand. They will then include include: secretarial support, payroll, management and administration & IT resources. These valuable rsources may be required by different groups to support and develop their activities. PLACE4U will also offer mutual support, training and development, in all spheres necessary to found, develop and manage your Group.
